its thursday: the unofficial weekend day. i love thursdays for some reason. i dunno. maybe because it feels like you're getting a taste of the weekend without it really being the weekend. stay w/me, so you go out on thursday, party/chill/wateva tickles your pickle then you wake you up the next morning and guess what kids: its only friday... which means you still have the weekend left to be lazy & procrastinate or crazy & party it up some more. i dunno if that makes sense to you. but it does to me. or maybe because my school weeks used to be monday - thursday, so at the moment of freedom on thursday afternoons i would go out w/dan and be up to no good. hahaha. noooo never just stupid fun. but ya plus on thursdays it feels like there's no pressure or anything, its like a free for all. but although im spitting out all this thursday love, they just aint the same though. life kinda got in the way. but this needs to be changed, pronto. oh and it will. but more importantly....

i learned a lesson in life from miss january...

i love that song btw. i just thought it would be fitting since ya kno. january always flies by. its the month that always escapes me. but this january 09 rivals no other. there's just been one thing after another after another and i could barely collect my own thoughts. its kinda mindnumbing. its like just when i think i have my life figured out something retarded/sad/unexpected pops up. i mean im tryin to look at it as part of the master plan where all these instances are designed to interrelate somehow. but i get it, life's hard man. have you ever felt like you've been working so hard and come so far and it still feels like nothing? i hope im not alone in this one cuz thats how it seems...or maybe not. maybe its just me. there has just been a sense of urgency from every facet of my life (familial, personal, professional). if you got stresses in your life y'all kno what im talkin bout. but i promise not to succumb into this state of pessism and will let the gods of positivity do their thing.

this weekend was not bad, fun actually. i got to hang with both sides of the family which is always good. like the best of both worlds. friday was the normal routine with my favorites. colin introducing me to camel crush. carol and the boys watching funny-ass japanese game shows which is another blog. sat night we all headed down to marina del rey for brandon's housewarming. marina del rey?? yes, its as far as it sounds. but you kno the rich folk live out there which means a sweet-ass pad. the new digs kind of had an asian, contemporary feel. not that i kno what the hell im talkin about, but it was nice. a little too nice to party in? but that didnt stop us or anybody else. aniwais, it was good times with good people and good booze, did i mention dancing? u kno i was buzzed if i was dancing. what more could u ask for.

sunday was supposed to be the rest day. i went to my cousin, sophia's 4th bday at some wanna-be chuck e. cheese place in the valley. not as high-tech or fun but more intimate. i love this little girl. she's gonna be a heartbreaker. she's half filipina, half italian. nice mix huh? they so lucky. happy bday baby girl. that's her older sis kiana in the other pix. love em.

anyhoo, then i met up with my other nurses and had gyrl times to the max. hahaha. its just fun thinking about it. but my skin care queens, rose and xtal, hooked it up biiiiiiiig time. thanks girls btw. basically we got treated with treatments. micros, vellas, laser hair removal you name it. it would have been rude to reject the offer, so i partook. xtal gave me her deluxe micro/facial treatment thing and it was so relaxing. there was some annoying guy, i forgot his name, who took a pix while i was getting treated when i was all up in my scary gray facial mask and shit. it was not cool. jusss playin, d. you kno im not like that. but seriously erase that shit. aniwais, i give props to my girls carla and ethel for getting the works. ya kno what i mean. you gals are champs. esp my girl ethel who got the 4 star treatment. "oooohhh mama." all i can say is GYRL times. oh but dont worry the boys were on hand and they got treatments too. after all the beautifying, we grabbed dinner in bbank. the cupcake place was closed and too far to walk so we got yogurt. it wasnt yogurt-land tho. they have the best yogurt and cheaper than pinkberry. but i guess the yogurt place we ended up at is getting into the cupcake craze too. we got the mini ones. looked appetizing but they were no sprinkles cupcakes. good times, good laughs again w/good people.
